What is a frozen product?
One of the most important reasons why fruits and vegetables get spoiled is their water content up to 98%. Using this water contained by vegetables, microorganisms cause the products to spoil. The freezing deprives such microorganisms of water and the temperature is decreased to -18 oC, which prevents microorganisms in the environment from development and reproduction. The most important factor affecting the quality of a frozen product is the raw material with the storage conditions ranking as the second most important factor.

What are the advantages of a frozen product?

Frozen products can be stored for 24 hours in the refrigerator, 7 days in the freezer and until the best before date in the deep freezer at -18 °C. The shelf life of frozen vegetables and fruits is around 2 years.

What points require attention when purchasing and consuming frozen canned food?

The most important point to check when buying frozen canned food is the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), which guarantees that the product has been manufactured under approved and healthy conditions. Other important points are the presence of the best before date on the product, absence of curvature on the top flat surface of the container, which would show that the vacuum has been lost, and the absence of any leaks on the container. After purchasing the product, follow the instructions for storage and use indicated on the package.
